Average class size: Over 50% of undergraduate classes have 16 or fewer students.

Alumni:  Actor Sylvester Stallone; Ralph Alvarez, president of the McDonald’s Corporation, and Grammy Award winner Gloria Estefan.

Interesting Facts:

  • UM has had a “Green U” initiative since 2005, which included Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification for buildings as well as the use of biofuels for campus busses.
  • UM attracts more than $326 million per year in sponsored research grants.
