Name: Molissa Udevitz
Completed art classes: Drawing & Design, Art Studio
Present art class: Sculpture
Describe your favorite creation: “My favorite creation is either my Lincoln sculpture or a purple paper-mâché frog I made in my art studio class.”
Favorite medium to work with: “I enjoy making 3D art and abstract drawings and paintings.”
Inspiration: “I chose to make a sculpture of Lincoln because I’m interested in history. This summer I visited the Gettysburg Battlefield and saw many powerful statues of Lincoln – so I decided to try to capture Lincoln’s face in clay.”
Plans after high school? Do you think art will play a role in your future? “Although I don’t plan to be a professional artist, I hope to continue taking art classes and making art in college and for the rest of my life. The arts have always played a big role in my life: I’m a dancer, I play the clarinet, and I enjoy creating visual art. I hope to always use my creativity and all that I’ve learned from the arts.”
